How to Assign a Mag Card in Toast

This lesson will show you how to assign and manage mag cards in toast. Remember: All cash handling employees must use a mag card!


Assigning a Mag Card To a Toast User


All Hideaway employees that handle cash should have a mag card assigned.  The mag card provides a layer of physical security to cash access in Toast.  This security control protects both the user and Hideaway Pizza.  The user is protected from impersonation and thus suspicion should someone else impersonate their access to the system for fraudulent purposes.  



Step 1.


From any Toast terminal swipe you manager card and click the Toast icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen.


Step 2. 


From the settings screen locate the Manager Activities section and then press the "Register Swipe Card" option.


Step 3. 


You should now see a list of employees that are assigned to your location. 


Scenario 1:  The employee has already been issued a card and you are replacing or otherwise removing the card.


   You may click the card next to the employee's name and select "revoke" if the employee is moving to a none cash handling position or "replace" if the employee's card is lost or unusable for some reason.


Scenario 2: The employee has yet to be issues a card



You may click on the employee's name and then press the "+" simple in the upper right hand corner.  You will prompted to swipe the card that you wish to assign to the employee.  The system will then confirm that the card has been assigned to the user or prompt you to swipe

again.
