This lesson will show you how to complete an excel based count out. You will learn how to enter sales and other POS data and record your deposit.
4. Click "Load Report"
Locate the "Total" column on the left hand side of the cash drawer report
Locate the "Cash In" value. This value will be recorded as "Paid Ins" on your excel count out form.
Locate the "Paid Out" value. This value will be recorded as "Paid Outs" on your excel count out form.
Transcribe the Data From the Reports to your Count Out Form:
1. Locate the "Total Cash Payments" from the Toast Sales Summary Report
2. Enter the "Total Cash Payments" from the Toast Sales Summary Report into the "Total Cash Payments" field on your excel count out.
3. Locate "Credit/Non-Cash tips" from the Toast Sales Summary Report.
4. Enter the "Credit/Non-Cash tips" into the "Credit/Non-Cash tips" field on your excel count out.
5. Locate the Paid-In's for the day by adding up your Paid-in for the day
6. Enter the Paid-Ins for the day into the "Paid In" field of your excel count out
7. Locate the Paid-Outs for the day by adding up your Paid-Outs for the day
8. Enter the Paid-Outs for the day into the "Paid Outs" field fo your excel count out.
9. Enter the "Change in Bank". If your bank is increasing then you will enter the amount you that the bank will be increasing by but as a negative number. For example: if your stores bank is increasing from $1000.00 to $1200.00 you should enter -$200 in the "Change in Bank" field. If your bank is decreasing from $1200 to $1000.00 then you would enter $200 in the "Change in Bank" field. The "Change in Bank" field is very seldom used and will often only be used is situations like concerts, parties, or game day events.
10. Enter the actual cash that you are depositing into the bank in the "Deposit Is" field.
