This lesson will walk you through the new process of declaring tips in toast for support and other no directly tipped employees.
Support and other employees that are not tipped directly will need to have tips declared for them in Toast. This process is faciliated in Toast but requires that the employees be "tipped" and so prompted to enter a tip. In our case they will always enter $0 and the manager will record the tip pool amount at a later date.
When a Support or indirectly tipped employee clocks out they will be prompted to enter their tips. They will enter $0 and manager will update their tips later.
1. When they clock out they will see the following:
2. They will hit "Declare" and then 0.00
3. Then "Close Shift"
4. They will hit next and then they can clock out!
3. Change the date to the day you are working using the filter bar at the top of the reports screen
4. Using your tip sheet as a guid, locate each tipped employee on the labor summary and double click on the shift that they received tips for.
5. You will then be prompted to adjust the "Cash Tips Declared". Set the value to the amount issued to the employee and "Submit"
6. Repeat this for each employee on the tip sheet.
